NOSTALGIA


There is a saying in my heart,
Hope you can see this through my eyes?
There is a sound muttering in my ear
Which pierces my heart into the air,
Solemnly and gently the voice says
”Where are you now,old friend?”.


Like Ajala on the planet Earth,
You traveled to and fro to reach the crest,
I asked of you from the rest,
They said,you are on your way to the apex,
But,this is under your carpet,
Come,old friend! my heart sings.


I remember those gone days,
The nights we sat together for the night's tale,
The days we passed through a mighty gale,
The moment we walked through a wooden vale,
Your voice like a Nightingale
Causes me to have a nightmare.


How can I forget that day?
The day we held our hands together,
The night we fought the intruder,
The evening we sat at the corner
And for this,we were beaten by your mother,
Old friend,I wish to sit on your shoulder.


Oh,nostalgia!
I call you a comedian
Guided by a custodian.
You give me a tear to shed,
You give me a smile to wear
At the remembrance of your smile.


Life I understood,
This I cannot prove:
How my soul so long for you,
How the memory of those days grips my heart
And how I am captured by the spirit
Called 'Nostalgia'.
